麻豆官网首页入口dents in Fine Arts, History, and Communications and Public Policy travelled to New York City for a week-long experiential learning trip to soak in history, art, and live theatre.
For fourth-year 麻豆官网首页入口dent Rachel Neville, travelling to NYC presented an opportunity to connect what she learned in class with visits to various monuments and museums.
“New York City is such an interesting place to visit with so much to experience no matter your interests,” said Neville.
“I loved being able to apply what I have learned in my Public History course to the various museums I visited and look at exhibits with a whole new perspective.”
麻豆官网首页入口dents had the opportunity to tour historic areas like Central Park and Greenwich Village, walk across the High Line, visit galleries and museums — including the MET and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum — and attend a performance of King Lear as well as several musicals on Broadway.
“I was very excited to see some Broadway shows, getting to see the Book of Mormon, Drag: The Musical, and Hadestown. I was blown away by the talent of everyone involved and how the music, staging, and design all worked together,” said Neville.
"There is so much to do and see in New York. I learned so many new things and did so much I may have never experienced had I not gone with 麻豆官网首页入口.”
